This person serves as the primary grant writer; oversees grants through tracking of finances for grants/special projects; managing funder relationships; engaging in compliance reporting, and supporting special project initiatives.
It also includes collaboration with the impacted departments, the finance department and funders.

Duties and Responsibilities :
•Project manages HUD grants annually, which includes writing the annual grants, as well as completion and submission financial tracking and other required reporting.
•Researches new funding and business development opportunities, both privately and at various government levels.
•Draft proposals/LOIs, grant application narratives and budgets and collaborate to finalize with program staff, finance, and CEO.
•Oversees grant applications and all of their components – initiating, writing, compiling, coordination of any staff contributors to the grant application and general •oversight of the application, submission and response to grantors.
•Project manages other successful grant applications and special projects (as assigned by the Director of Finance) to ensure the budgets are complied with by staff and reports are completed and submitted.
•Maintains a master calendar of grants and prospects and all associated files and correspondence
•Able to research and understand funder requirements and translate the information, including budgets, to assist the executive team with evaluation of a possible application.
•Keeps up-to-date with grant-maker changes that impact granted programs.
•Responsible for the integration of grant reporting with the Finance Department to ensure that expenses and revenues meet contract and corporate specifications.
•Evaluates grant/contract financial and statistical data to monitor grant/special project compliance.
•Works in collaboration with the Director of Finances and Director of Clinical Services (or their designees) to ensure program compliance with grants and special projects.
•Trains staff in procedures and requirements of any grants/special projects.

•Searches for new grant programs for which the agency may be eligible, including review of subscription grant publications or website access.
•Attends funder meetings as needed.
•Attends training for grant management and grant writing.
•Is mindful of and integrates Trauma-Informed Care and its five principles in all duties and interactions with fellow staff, residents, and external partners.
Initiates and/or assists with policy development related to grant.
•Maintains compliance with all required rules and regulations, including Federal Confidentiality (42 CFR, Part 2), HIPAA, Medicaid and / or HUD, and any others.
•Assists in the implementation of the corporation’s strategic plan.

Requirements:
•Three years of grant writing and is able to show successes.
•Academic degree in business, human relations or a related field.
•Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
•Must possess a New York State driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
