Hearts for the Homeless, a faith based non-profit, was founded in 1990 with a mission to serve the chronic homeless as well as other underserved populations.
Hearts is able to fund its mission through donor support and entrepreneurial ventures such as the thrift store operation and donated goods recycling program.
The red clothing donation bins provide items that are given away to those in need. Donated items are also turned into dollars which support outreach programs such as the mobile soup kitchen and food pantry.


The Receptionist supports Hearts for the Homeless operations by answering inquiries and obtaining information for the general public, customers, visitors and other interested parties.
Duties of the Receptionist include providing support to our managers and employees in the form of information gathering, sorting and dissemination, assisting in daily office needs such as invoice and order processing and managing our company’s general administrative activities.

Essential Functions:
• Answer incoming telephone calls to screen and forward, provide information, take messages and direct to the appropriate source.
• Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
• Prepare communications, such as memos, emails, invoices, reports and other correspondence
• Process incoming mail/deliveries by opening, scanning and submitting.
• Place service calls as needed to various vendors.
• Assist with social media monitoring and tracking
• Invoicing
• Process 3rd party orders and track progress.
• Reviews purchase orders against invoices and enters in the system.
• Greet persons entering the building and determine nature and purpose of visit.
• Managing office calendar and appointment schedules
• Pick up mail from the post office.
• Perform administrative support tasks for various departments upon request.
• Operate standard office equipment on a regular basis, including a fax machine, a copy machine, and a computer
• Maintain office equipment
• Compliance with security policy as well as any specific responsibilities for the protection of particular information, assets, or for the execution of particular security processes or activities (such as reporting security incidents or near misses).

Education Requirements and Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in an office environment is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate, select and monitor fundraising software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to anticipate and respond proactively and effectively to donor needs.
• Creativity and innovation talent
• Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
• Excellent organizational skills
• Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Customer service attitude

Pay: $14.00 to $17.00 per hour
