Maintenance Mechanic in Clarence, NY

Salary Range: $20-$24/hr. based on experience

The Grader Mechanic I is an entry-level grader mechanic position.
The primary responsibility of the Grader Mechanic I is to learn the proper procedures for the maintenance and repair of the specific egg grader machine and related equipment, and to help assure its optimal performance.
• Learn the basic mechanical and electrical workings of the grader machine, and assist other Grader Mechanics in the basic equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Learn the role in servicing the customer through efficiency and quality in equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure smooth processing department operations.
• Work effectively with QA Technicians and USDA Grader to learn SQF compliance requirements.
• Visually inspect equipment to avoid problems that may cause future injury to equipment operators.
• Inspect for worn parts on equipment and report findings to immediate supervisor.
• Assist in the installation of new equipment as required.
• Learn the required inventory of greases and oils used in preventative maintenance.
• Continually develop knowledge of equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure best practices are utilized in the processing department.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment, and document work completed.
• Maintain shop area and equipment used for repairs.
