Laborer in West Seneca, NY

Laborer (West Elementary):
Hours: Monday-Friday approx. 3:00pm – 11:00pm (School recess hours Mon-Fri adjusted to building needs; Summer hours Mon-Thurs approx. 6:00am-4:00pm)

The work involves performing routine manual labor, requiring physical endurance and a willingness to perform a variety of routine and repetitive tasks. Direct supervision is received from a variety of higher-ranking employees who create work assignments and review work completed.

Working knowledge of the maintenance and repair of buildings, fixtures and equipment, and ability to make a variety of simple repairs and adjustments to buildings and equipment; capable of working independently and as a member of a team. Has the ability to lift medium weights and a willingness to perform routine manual work. Has a willingness to work under all weather conditions. Holds physical endurance and a physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Applicants must be able to perform moderately heavy physical labor, lift 50 lbs., and be able to read, write and understand the English language.

These are 12 month, full time positions with paid sick, personal, vacation & holidays, and membership in the NYS Employee Retirement System. All successful candidates are required to be fingerprinted in accordance with the regulations of the NYS Dept of Education.
