Vargas Associates provides Interior Design and Facilities Project Management services to many businesses and organizations in and around the Rochester and Upstate New York areas that seek to create new space or transform their existing space. We provide leadership in managing facilities renovation, furniture coordination and relocation projects. Our company provides the upfront planning and logistics to define the project from inception and carry it through conceptual design, architectural and engineering design, construction and occupancy. We coordinate the details and assist the client with the decisions necessary to deliver a project that meets the functional needs of their organization and their customer requirements.
This position allows for flexibility to work from home if desired.

Position: Interior Designer
-Concepts, Transformations, Specifications, Design Development, Interiors, Finishes & Material Selections, Coordination, FF&E
-Interior Designers manage projects under the mentorship of both company principals. With time and experience, this position requires more independent project delivery including the coordination and oversight of extensive project details.
-The ability to manage multiple projects at the same time is essential. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree. The number of years of experience in the field (or in a related field) correlate directly to the salary for this position.
-A wide degree of flexibility with type of assignments is expected. Willingness to learn new processes and project delivery methods is essential. This position will work with various internal and external team members, and will report to the company President.
Qualifications and Requirements:
-Education, Computer Skills, Experience, Communication
-BS/BA Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction or related field
-Experience working with teams of various disciplines and work styles
-Intermediate level: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
-Experience with AutoCAD 2020-2022, Revit Architecture 2020-2023, Adobe Photoshop.
-Experience with MS Project and/or Enscape a plus.
-Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
-Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with both staff and clients
-Dependable transportation to drive to sites in Western/Central NY
-Professional demeanor and business attire

Job Responsibilities:
Our interior designers transform our clients’ spaces into highly productive environments infused with the right mix of emotion to engage their customers, their staff, their patrons and more. They are well versed in the process of creating construction documents which communicate the design intent to our clients and the contractors who will make these projects a reality. A typical day includes coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, product manufacturer’s reps, as they create drawings and specifications in AutoCAD or Revit Architecture. They bring together a cohesive design that includes wall, floor, ceiling, lighting, millwork, and furniture for these new spaces. Attention to client budget and schedules are considered to ensure the designs are feasible withing a client’s constraints. Balancing proper re-use of existing space and assets is a common consideration. Our designers understand the importance of communication in the role of a successful project. During implementation they visit the client site to ensure compliance to the design, and work alongside other professionals as the project reaches the finish line.
