Groundsworker in West Seneca, NY

The West Seneca Central School District is seeking qualified applicants for the following positions with the District’s Buildings and Grounds Department:

2:00 pm – 10:00 pm M – F Mar. 16 – June 30
6:00 am – 4:00 pm M- Th (Summer Hours) July 1- Aug 31
2:00 pm – 10:00 pm M – F Sept. 1 – Nov. 15
10:00 pm – 6:00 am M – F Nov. 16 – Mar. 15

The work involves performing grounds maintenance and upkeep of all school grounds, including mowing, weeding, salting, and snow removal; as well as maintenance and repair of sidewalks, parking lots, roads, and athletic fields.

Qualified applicants must possess good knowledge of general grounds and field maintenance, working knowledge of equipment and materials used in snow plowing. Candidates must possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) and one year experience in site maintenance work; or 6 years of in site maintenance or grounds work. Possession of a valid class B NYS driver’s license is preferred.

Applicants must be able to perform moderately heavy physical labor, lift 50 lbs., and be able to read, write and understand the English language.

These are 12 month, full time positions with paid sick, personal, vacation & holidays, and membership in the NYS Employee Retirement System. All successful candidates are required to be fingerprinted in accordance with the regulations of the NYS Dept of Education
