This position is responsible for the preparation and monitoring of the program’s food service plan.

Responsibilities :
• Prepares healthy and nutritious meals in accordance with the agency’s four-week cycle menu and in accordance with the USDA/US Food • Code/ NY Subpart 14-1.
• Maintains an inventory of required food service supplies that are necessary for the day-to-day operation of the program.
• Orders all food service supplies.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA standards, including using personal protective equipment, completing material safety data sheets, and more.
• Actively works with the agency’s Director of Food Services to ensure that all residents’ dietary needs are being met.
• Conducts daily inspections of the kitchen to ensure compliance with all safety and sanitary standards.
• Ensures that all safety-related systems, such as fire extinguishers and kitchen suppression systems, are working properly.
• Prepares, serves, and cleans up after the program’s meals.
• Teaches cooking procedures to residents and oversees their implementation afterwards.
• Monitors temperatures of foods and all food service equipment

Requirements:
• Two years’ experience in settings whose operations are similar to community residences
• Must possess a valid New York State driver’s license.
• Managers ServSafe certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Working primarily day shifts, Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekends required.
$18/Hour to start
