Electrical Engineer with a Concentration in Controls
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications; real-world experience is an advantage:
-A Bachelors or Master’s Degree in an Electrical/Control Engineering Discipline. An understanding of machine control concepts is essential.
-The ability to effectively manage projects; project goals, known constraints, cost goals and due dates.
-Ability to train production and field service personnel.
-Control system components, design, debug, and commissioning.
-Control system software including PLC, CNC, and PC-based applications.
-PLC hardware and its integration with other control components, and the interactions between them.
-Various network interfaces for communication between systems.
-Motion control systems.
-Familiarity with control system testing. Candidate should be skilled in design of experiments and methodical data acquisition. Candidate should have experience using these skills to demonstrate system performance in all normal operating modes as well as during exception handling.
-A thorough understanding of mechanical systems and the interactions between them and control systems. Candidate must have a strong understanding of the interfaces between electrical and mechanical systems and the physical design elements that ensure a proper top-level electromechanical assembly; footprint, harnessing, chassis design, etc.
Familiarity with design and documentation packages such as:
-AutoCAD Electrical and a supporting PDM system
-Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Familiarity with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL 508a, and other design codes related to industrial equipment and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure compliant designs is an advantage.
