Provides leadership to the Disabilities Services service area by performing duties of an advanced and technical nature, which includes monitoring, supervision, training and technical assistance for the disabilities services area, representing program at local organizations and groups; serving children with disabilities, and developing agreements with special service agencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-Serves as liaison to the Early Childhood Administrator for Service Area Managers assigned.
- Facilitates Service Area Manager’s meetings
- Provides leadership to Service Area Managers assigned.
- Facilitates monthly CAO Head Start content area meetings.
-Facilitates bi-monthly, county-wide content area meetings
-Provides leadership to the Disabilities Service Area coordinators through monitoring, training, technical assistance and follow-up to the CAO Head Start/Early Head Start direct run programs and delegates to ensure Performance Standards’ compliance, and other licensing and regulatory requirements are being met.

Provides direct supervisions to Mental Health Service Area Manger, Health Services Area Manger, Nutrition Service Area Manger, Family & Community Partnership Service Area Manger, CAO Head Start Disabilities Coordinators and Child Aides.

Masters degree in Special Education, Early Childhood or Elementary Education which includes at least eighteen credit hours in an early childhood specialization; and three years experience working with families and children (with two years of this experience with special-needs children, zero to five years of age.
Bachelors in above-mentioned areas and five years experience working with families and children (with two years of this experience with special needs children, zero to five years of age).
Previous experience in Head Start/Early Head Start or work with low income children and families preferred.
Experience working with adolescent parents, in a home-based option and multicultural environment desirable.
