Are you looking for a summer job? We're hiring. As part of public education, we offer summer programs for students with disabilities at three school buildings in Erie County.

Hours:
8:00AM – 2:00PM

Duration: 6 weeks
July 2, 2024 - August 16, 2024
July 2, 2024 - July 3, 2024 - Set-up days for all programs (Staff attendance required)

General Responsibilities:
- To provide students with disabilities with a program that will enable them to reach their fullest physical, social-emotional, psychological, behavioral, and intellectual potential.

Specific Duties: (Illustrative only; not all inclusive)
- Assesses students, both informally and formally, in order to provide an individualized classroom program.
- Designs and plans appropriate activities to reach individual pupil IEPs.
- Provides an individual education program for handicapped students consistent with state education mandates and the program’s goals and requirements.
- Establishes a classroom environment that provides for the student’s social/emotional and behavioral needs as well as academic needs including specific systems of motivation to students.
- Assists and counsels students in making realistic assessment of their abilities in establishing educational and/or occupational goals.
- Keeps attendance records and other reports/records pertinent to the program.

Erie 1 BOCES Summer Program Locations:
- Central (Maryvale Middle School)
- North (Heim Middle School)
- South (West Seneca East Middle School)

Job Qualifications:
-New York State Teacher Certification in Special Education
- At least one (1) year of teaching experience working in Special Education Desired
- Staff with prior Summer Program experience in Erie 1 BOCES will be given preference
