The Direct support Professional/Classroom Aide has an active role in educating our students in the classroom and community and assisting them with accomplishing objectives outlined in the Individual Education Plans (IEP’s).
- Supports student learning. The Direct Support Professional / Classroom Aide assists the teacher with reinforcing academic goals.
- Understanding Instructional Goals and other plans specific to a student. The Direct Support Professional / Classroom Aide will have an understanding and knowledge of students’ instructional goals and assist with monitoring student progress as outlined by the classroom teacher.
- Develops a positive relationship with students. The Direct Support Professional / Classroom Aide will consistently utilize proactive strategies when interacting with students.
Location 1: Amherst, NY
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:15 AM - 2:45 PM
Location 2: Buffalo, NY
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:45 AM - 3:15 PM
High School Diploma, GED or willingness to enroll in a high school equivalency program and obtain a high school equivalent diploma within 6 months of employment.
Valid New York State Driver’s License.
Ability to meet physical requirements of the position when performing the following: standing, walking, sitting, grasping, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling and climbing.
Ability to move, reposition, lift and transfer individuals as required by prescribed program/plan.
