Allied Health Teacher in Lockport, NY

Anticipated initial assignment is to be at Niagara Career & Technical Education Center off-site location at 5854 Snyder Drive, Lockport, NY.

This person must be a registered professional nurse who will be responsible for providing instruction to high school juniors and seniors in the area of allied health. Instructional points include but are not limited to: career opportunities in health care, medical ethics, communication/interpersonal skills, infection control, asepsis and microbiology, anatomy and physiology, patient care skills, math and science principles, public health care policies, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, basic life support, first aid and emergency care, technology and computer skills, and problem solving. Additional responsibilities may include but not be limited to becoming a college course instructor (dual credit agreement), and organizing shadowing and internship sites for students and others.

The individual should have or be willing to obtain a bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree is preferred. Must have or be eligible for NYS teacher certification upon hire.

Regular attendance and dependability are required.
Other responsibilities may be assigned.
