SNG has an immediate opening for an Accounting Manager and will report to the Vice President, Accounting & Financial Reporting. This position is located in Williamsville, NY.

The Accounting Manager is an integral member of the accounting team, ensuring the timely and accurate financial reporting internally and externally, tracking compliance with GAAP, FAR and all other necessary regulatory organizations, assisting the accounting team in the processing of all cash and non-cash transactions processed to the respective company’s general ledger, and formulating and implementing internal controls, accounting policy and procedures for a dynamic and growing company.

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Maintain the General Ledger and preparation of financial and project reports including monthly and ad hoc financial.
-Establish and maintain timely and accurate completion of the closing of the accounting system.
-Maintenance of monthly account reconciliations and accrual of costs and revenues as appropriate. Including year-end with preparing schedules with explanations, supporting materials, and preparing any other necessary data.
-Support the timely and accurate processing, issuance, payment, and accrual of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, expense reports and all other general ledger related activities
-Conduct research & analysis; assist with billed and unbilled receivable analysis and revenue recognition
-Preparation and submission of monthly and annual filings to state and federal agencies including annual incurred DCAA cost submissions
-Assist with the setup of new companies in project-based ERP and other systems, reconciling and maintaining cost pools.
-Centralize, maintain & register companies for state payroll, sales tax, and secretary of state filings
-Research payroll reporting requirements by state
-Review taxability and reporting of compensation related matters
-Research multi-state sales tax exemption requirements
-Prepare license returns for state and county jurisdictions
-Supervise tracking and maintain DBA insurance for international travel
-Engage with outside auditors, DCAA auditors
-Provide information and analysis to leadership, project control and client services on finance/accounting related issues as necessary
-Assist in development, implementation and maintenance of accounting control policies and procedures that provide efficiencies and compliance
-Participate in cross-functional teams for continuous company improvement, problem-solving and process analysis
-Remain current on updates relating to regulated industry trends and analysis
-Perform other related duties as assigned and assist in special projects as needed
-Travel for the position will be limited.

Basic Qualifications:
-Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred or 8+ years relatable experience
-Experience with project-based ERP (Deltek Costpoint preferred) and ADP Workforce Now
-Experience with a multi-company culture (preferred)
-Experience with preparation of reporting to government agencies, notably DCAA
-Proficient with computers and standard office applications (strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel)
-Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic
-Demonstrated capacity for attention to detail and accuracy of work product
-Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information, and exercise good judgment and discretion in handling and disseminating information
-Must be a respectful team player with a professional demeanor and effective communication skills
-Experience in working with and editing .pdf documents
