Erie 1 BOCES seeks Teacher Assistants for the Maryvale Academy Regents Program. The Teacher Assistant will work alongside Administration, Teachers and Support Staff, to support 8th -12th grade Academic Students.

Job Responsibilities:
The Teaching Assistant provides direct instructional services to students under the general supervision of a certified teacher. A Teaching Assistant supports the teacher by helping to supervise activities in the classroom, working with students on an individual, small group or whole class basis. Teaching Assistants may be assigned additional responsibilities, such as teaching classes on their own, covering planned absences and allowing teachers time for meetings and conferences. They may also manage other support staff and assist with recording student grades, data and reporting on student progress. Duties of this job require a knowledge of child development and interpersonal skills to coordinate instruction with the primary teachers as well as communicate with parents.

Job Qualifications
* Valid NYS Teaching Assistant Certification - Level I, II, III, Initial TA, Pre-Professional TA, or Professional TA
