Wine Retail Manager in Westfield, NY

Salary Range: Pay Range: $28-$30/hour

Johnson Estate Winery of Westfield, NY seeks a FT, year-round Retail Manager for this longest continuously operating estate winery in NY State, to oversee daily operations, and lead the hospitality team in delivering exceptional indoor wine tasting and seasonal outdoor dining experiences. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a passion for wine and hospitality, and preferably a background in Wine and Food service. As the person in this position gains experience with our operation, it is expected that they will become a key member of the management team. This position works 4-5 days/week (about 40 hours); and summer weekends, mid-May through mid-October.

(Pay Range: $28-$30/hour)

Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and coordinate daily operations to ensure smooth and reliably outstanding service delivery; schedule staff to efficiently meet business needs.
2. Lead staff hiring, training and development.
3. Model the highest standards of customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions; and creating memorably great experiences for customers.
4. Collaborate with other functions (Operations, Sales, Accounting) to ensure that the entire operation works as a coordinated team.
5. Ensure cleanliness/presentation of tasting room, outdoor venue and surrounds.
6. Oversee inventory control - wine stock management and ordering supplies.
7. Support occasional event planning such as private tastings, tours, or special functions such as banquets or catering events.
8. Manage the Square® Point of Sale system

• Ability to lift/stack a case of wine (35-45 lbs.) with ease

• Considers both the “big picture” and functional needs in making decisions
