Position Summary:
To create and implement appropriate and engaging activities for the Just for Kids Before and After School Program participants in a safe, supervised, structured environment.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Program Development
a. Support planning and implementation of age-appropriate daily activities.
b. Maintain general housekeeping of all program areas including program spaces and storage areas.
c. Provide support and assistance to enrichment curriculum related tasks.
d. Provide direct competent supervision of children at all times, while maintaining ratios.

2. Relationships
a. Communicate activity plans, group needs, and incidents/injuries to Program Manager.
b. Be a resource for families and others with questions as they pertain to school-age children.
c. Daily communication with participating families, staff and school personnel.
d. Help maintain a positive work environment.

3. Recordkeeping
a. Uphold confidentiality of information with regard to children and families, other staff, District operations, and the Just for Kids program at large.
b. Assist maintenance of accurate record keeping (i.e. group trackers/attendance records, injury reports, etc.)
c. Ensure accurate record keeping by parents.

4. Training
a. Obtain 15 hours within first six months and 30 hours every two years.
b. Attend and contribute to team/staff meetings.

5. Any other duties specified by the Program Manager and Just for Kids School Age Program administration

Experience and Education: Must be 18 years of age or older. Education and/or experience per NYS OCFS regulations.

Requirements:
• Before employees are eligible to start working, they must be cleared through NYS OCFS. This includes the completion of several background checks, medical clearance, and fingerprinting.
• Regular and predictable attendance

Physical Requirements: This position is very active and requires walking, bending, kneeling, running, twisting and squatting. This position includes prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending. Generally, must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at a time.
