STEM Coordinator (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

Job Description:
Responsible for maximizing the educational impact of current STEM and science curriculum throughout BOCES and/or component districts through development, training and integration of such curriculum.

Performance Responsibilities:
- Developing, planning, coordinating and implementing curriculum, instructional strategies and education integration and assessments designed to enhance STEM and science curriculum.
- Research, develop and recommend STEM and science training workshops and instructional materials for teachers and/or administrators of BOCES and/or component districts.
- Remain current with various state and national education standards and best practices. Act as liaison to interpret NYSED policy and curricular changes to component districts and/or BOCES as related to STEM and science curriculum.
- Assist Program Manager in conducting studies to determine needs for component districts and/or BOCES related to STEM and science curriculum.
- Assist Program Manager with recruiting, interviewing and recommending candidates for open positions of Instructional Support Staff.
- Assist with planning and recommending budget needs for department and/or component district considering such factors as revenue, expenses, state & federal grants and programming needs.
- May assist the Program Manager in observing staff and teachers in science-related fields, potentially contributing to the development and implementation of improvement plans or recommendations.
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Program Manager.

Job Qualifications:
- Permanent/Professional NYS teacher certification.
- Certification as School Building Leader (SBL), School District Leader (SDL), School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS), or School District Administrator (SDA) – OR willingness to obtain.
- Three (3) to five (5) years teaching experience (STEM area background preferred).
- Knowledge & experience with interactive technology in support of STEM curriculum a plus.

Salary: $63,000 Commensurate with experience and per BASSA Compensation Plan
