Shift: Mon- Fri, 37.50 hours/week – hour times may vary

Pay Rate: $30/hr. + based off Degree level

Job Summary
We are seeking Special Education (SPED) Teachers for our School Age program in Cheektowaga, NY.

The successful candidate:

- Evaluates students with disabilities skills and determine their educational needs
- Modify general lessons to meet students’ needs
- Create activities that are specific to each student’s abilities
- Participates with team members (Therapists, Assistant Principals, Principal) in assuring continuity between education & home environment
- Supervises a Teacher Assistant(s) in implementing student objectives

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

- Master’s degree in special education
- PLUS, Permanent/Professional New York State Certification in Special Education OR
- Provisional/Initial New York State Certification in Special Education.
- Master’s Degree level teachers are expected to perform in the above-mentioned responsibilities with greater independence and efficiency than that of a bachelor’s degree level teacher.
- Bachelor’s degree in special education
- PLUS, Permanent/Professional New York State Certification in Special Education
OR a Provisional/Initial New York State Certification in Special Education
