Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Clerk in Buffalo, NY

Salary Range: $18-$22, based on experience

For over 55 years, Control System Labs, Inc. has been an established repair facility for industrial electronic controls. Located in Buffalo, New York, we have an immediate opening for a Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Clerk. In this multi-faceted position, the ideal candidate will support four key areas of operation as outlined below.

Shipping
• Package items for shipment, (mainly parcel packages) and coordinate paperwork for shipping carriers as necessary
• Prepare and manage freight shipments ensuring accurate documentation is completed

Receiving
• Unpack/uncrate incoming shipments
• Receive items by entering detailed product information into the computer system to maintain accurate records of incoming items
• Photograph the incoming product
• Retrieve repair documentation folders
• Ladder, forklift, manlift, and pallet jack usage are required

Inventory Control
• Catalog and maintain warehouse inventory, ensuring proper organization and accessibility
• Maintain storage of test equipment
• Distribute ordered parts to technicians and appropriately store excess inventory in the stockroom
• File repair documentation
• Assist the Purchasing department as needed

Facilities and Maintenance
• Perform facilities and maintenance duties, including:
• Minor Repairs: ability to address common household or facility maintenance issues, such as fixing leaky faucets, or patching small holes in walls.
• Regular maintenance on facility equipment.
• Assembly and Disassembly: Capability to assemble, install, and disassemble basic furniture, fixtures, and equipment, such as assembling shelves.
• Completing projects that require measuring, cutting, and nailing, which are useful for small carpentry projects like building a crate
• Painting and finishing: The ability to paint walls neatly and evenly.
• Cleaning various parts of the facility and grounds, not covered by outsourced cleaning company
• Inspecting safety devices such as fire extinguishers, hood vents, and exit signs.
• Maintaining facility grounds in winter by clearing doorways of snow build-up, salting parking lots and walkways, and occasional use of a snow blower

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
• Shipping & receiving experience with parcel packages
• Shipping & receiving experience with freight shipments
• Inventory control experience
• Basic handyman skills
• Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with and the ability to safely use a variety of hand tools, including hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and tape measures.
• Basic carpentry skills
• Ability to climb ladders
• Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Windows applications
• Forklift experience
• Solid multi-tasking skills with a high degree of accuracy
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work well in a team-based, fast-paced environment with enthusiasm
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Ability to operator a forklift or be trained in the operation of a forklift
• High school diploma or equivalent

Hourly rate: $18-$22, based on experience
