Salary Range: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

The Rental Shop Manager is responsible for the overall operation of Kissing Bridge’s rental and repair shop, ensuring safe, efficient, and guest-focused service. This position manages rental shop staff, daily operations, rental fleet inspection and maintenance, and the repair and tuning of rental and guest-owned equipment. The Manager is expected to lead by example and maintain high standards for safety, equipment quality, teamwork, and guest service.

Full Time Seasonal and Part Time Seasonal

Responsibilities:

Staff Management & Leadership
● Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, schedule, and train rental shop employees.
● Train staff on rental procedures, equipment fitting and adjustment, inspections, documentation, safety, and guest service.
● Provide ongoing coaching, counseling, performance feedback, and progressive discipline when necessary.
● Maintain appropriate employee documentation and promote a positive, professional, and safety-focused workplace.
● Provide hands-on leadership and support during busy operating periods.

Rental Shop Operations & Guest Service
● Oversee daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, rental transactions, equipment assignments, waivers, inventory, and guest flow.
● Ensure guests receive properly sized, fitted, adjusted, and functioning equipment.
● Professionally resolve guest questions, concerns, and equipment issues.
● Maintain a clean, organized, efficient, and safe rental and repair shop.

Rental Fleet Management & Safety
● Maintain skis, snowboards, boots, bindings, helmets, and other rental equipment in safe, serviceable condition.
● Ensure equipment is inspected, tested, adjusted, maintained, and documented according to manufacturer specifications, recommendations, resort procedures, and applicable industry standards.
● Ensure binding inspections and adjustments are performed by appropriately trained and qualified employees.
● Immediately remove damaged, defective, excessively worn, or unsafe equipment from service.
● Maintain required inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, and inventory records.
● Monitor fleet condition and recommend equipment repair, replacement, or retirement.

Maintenance, Repair & Tuning
● Oversee preventative maintenance and tuning of the rental fleet, including waxing, edging, base repair, and other approved services.
● Oversee the intake, tracking, repair, tuning, quality control, and return of guest-owned skis and snowboards.
● Ensure guest equipment is properly identified, securely stored, carefully handled, and
serviced according to manufacturer specifications and shop procedures.
● Maintain tuning equipment, tools, replacement parts, wax, and other shop supplies in safe working order and appropriate inventory levels.
● Maintain safe operating practices for tuning machines, grinders, tools, hot wax equipment, chemicals, and other shop equipment.

Qualifications & Expectations
● Previous ski/snowboard rental, repair, tuning, retail, or related resort experience preferred.
● Supervisory or management experience preferred.
● Knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment, fitting, adjustment, inspection, maintenance, and tuning preferred.
● Strong leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and guest-service skills.
● Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and peak operating periods.
● Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and following manufacturer requirements and resort procedures.
