Salary Range: $56,243.89 annually

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Recreation Leader join our team! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves serving their community and helping to create engaging recreational programs.

We're seeking a proactive individual to help plan, deliver, and oversee a variety of youth and recreation programs for our community. This role involves everything from conducting group activities and managing facilities to assisting with administrative tasks and creating promotional materials. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Developing and overseeing youth and recreation programming.
- Conducting group recreation activities.
- Facility scheduling and management.
- Assisting with administrative tasks (answering phones, processing payments, creating documents).
- Managing staff time and attendance.
- Creating promotional materials for programs and events.
- Building partnerships with local youth organizations and schools.

Here's what we're looking for:
- Must be over 18 years old.
- Valid NYS Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to obtain First Aid, BLS/CPR, Lifeguard, and Lifeguard Instructor certifications within specified timeframes.
- A strong understanding of recreation programming and the ability to motivate participants.

Minimum Qualifications:
A) Completion of two (2) years of study at a regionally accredited or New York State registered two (2) or four (4) year college or university specializing in physical education, recreation or related field and one (1) year of experience in conducting organized recreational activities; or:
B) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of experience in conducting organized recreational activities; or:
C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).

Special Requirements
First Aid, BLS/CPR, Lifeguard, and Lifeguard Instructor certifications within specified timeframes.

Miscellaneous Information
The typical work schedule focuses on weekdays, evenings and weekend daytime hours, usually Tuesday to Saturday, but may vary based on departmental needs.

Note: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.

This is provisional hire under Civil Service Guidelines and a full-time Civil Service position with a starting salary of $56,243.89 per year. There is no residency requirement.
