Erie 1 BOCES’ Infrastructure as a Service / Library & Cloud is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Microcomputer Technical Support Specialist.

We are seeking an experienced IT professional with a strong background in server management, SQL programming, database administration, application support, and the administration and management of cloud and library systems. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of server management and monitoring, database management, firewalls, M365, Google Workspace, and library applications.

The successful candidate will be comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders and will demonstrate excellent customer service skills. The ability to troubleshoot technical issues, conduct research, and clearly document processes and solutions is essential.

This position will be based out of the Erie 1 BOCES office located in West Seneca, NY.

Minimum Civil Service Qualifications:

A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in computer programming which included, at least, one (1) year of experience in programming and/or maintenance of vendor supplied operating software; or;

B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two (2) or four (4) year college or university with an Associate’s degree in Data Processing, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field and four (4) years of data processing experience, two (2) years of which, included computer programming, and at least, one (1) year of experience in programming and/or maintenance of vendor supplied operating software; or;

C) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and six (6) years of data processing experience, two (2) years of which, included computer programming, and at least one (1) year of experience in programming and/or maintenance of vendor supplied operating software; or;

D) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C).

Additional Qualifications:

- Experience working with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Library applications, Remote Backup Solutions, and Servers - Various OS's
- SQL Data Base experience preferred
- Data Analysis
- CompTIA Certifications, A ++ Certified, Network Certification, Microsoft Certifications
- Knowledge of Storage and Networking concepts a plus
- Strong human relations skills to effectively interface with managers, staff, customers, and vendors at all levels
- Strong diagnostic skills
