These phases include: program and service planning, general program management services, personnel management, fiscal management and community cooperation. The Manager’s overarching responsibility is to ensure that the Health, Safety and Risk Management program evolves to meet the needs of school district clients through continual assessment of the quality, utility and effectiveness of the department’s services.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Civil Service Qualifications:
Must meet minimum qualifications for provisional appointment as follows:
A) Master's degree in Business Administration or related field plus four (4) years of management experience which included administrative/supervisory experience, and two (2) years of which involved planning and administering health, safety and risk management programs.
B) Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Related field plus six (6) years of management experience which included administrative/supervisory experience, and two (2) years of which involved planning and administering health, safety and risk management programs.
C) An equivalent combination of (A) and (B).
Additional Qualifications:
- Must take the upcoming Erie County Civil Service exam for the title of MANAGER, HEALTH, SAFETY AND RISK MANAGEMENT once announced.
- Thorough knowledge of health, safety and risk management requirements applicable to K-12 public schools in New York State;
- Working knowledge of New York State and Federal laws, regulations, procedures and processes governing the operations of K-12 public schools in New York State;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituencies, including professional colleagues, school district staff, and New York State and local partners;
- Demonstrable record of strong, effective team leadership and management skills;
