Delivery Driver / Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Position Summary:
The Delivery Driver is responsible for driving a company truck or personal vehicle primarily to deliver mail, packages, documents or other material important to the day-to-day operation of Compu-Mail. The Delivery Driver will report directly to the Logistics Supervisor / Manager on a daily basis. The Delivery Driver will have contact with other departments especially shipping and receiving and will be expected to make deliveries for each department. The Delivery Driver is responsible for reviewing and understanding the specific instructions pertaining to each delivery. The Delivery Driver will be expected to abide by company policies while away from the facility. The Delivery Driver will also help in the Shipping & Receiving Department when not delivering.

Essential Functions:
• Load and unload vehicles.
• Follow written and verbal geographic locations.
• Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Maintain records such as Vehicle Logs, Records of Cargo and Billing Statements.
• Understand and follow all safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of company vehicles.
• Ability to use sound judgment for problem solving and attention to detail.
• Package finished products for shipping (shrink wrap pallets, boxing, etc.)
• Unload and ensure accuracy of all incoming deliveries and distribute to appropriate person/department.
• Complete daily shipping log.
• Assist USPS in mail verification process.
• Load finished product on trucks ensuring accuracy.
• Load/unload and call recycle truck.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Process UPS/FedEx Shipments.
• Complete forklift safety training.
• Understand and follow safety procedures regarding the operation of equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Work schedule consists of 40 hours per week, which may include on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends.
• Perform various other duties as required.

Education and Experience:
• A High School Degree, GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Clean driving record
• NYS Class B
• Ability to cross Canadian border
• Knowledge of traffic laws and DOT regulations
• Most importantly “passion” and desire to be the best they can daily
