Cook in Buffalo, NY

Salary Range: $18-20/hr

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team. As the cook, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food production and prep.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for delivering high-quality food products, and the ability to effectively manage projects and teams.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Responsibilities:
· Assist with the creation of a weekly menu
· Assemble food order based on number of members
· Learn, understand, and apply various diet restrictions, allergies, and special needs to food preparation as necessary for Club members.
· Work closely with other kitchen staff in preparing and serving meals.
· Clean and maintain the kitchen environment, equipment to ensure Health Code Standards are being met, and inspecting equipment to ensure they are functional.

Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· 1 year of experience in a food preparation environment for large groups of people (100+) required.
· Must be able to plan and organize food preparation and serving operations to meet fixed schedules.
· Must be organized with an attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
· Communication and teamwork skills
· Knowledge of health regulations and current standards, and commitment to safety rules.
· Prior experience with ordering, inventory and menu planning preferred.
· Prior experience in a child focused environment preferred.
· Ability to meet physical demands of the job (Standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds, etc.)
· A valid NYS Driver’s License is required.
