CNC Lathe Machinist (Direct Hire with $3,000 sign-on bonus)
Compensation: $30 - 40/hr DOE

Incentives:
Successful hires will be eligible for benefits that include:
• $3,000 Signing on bonus
* $500 to be paid with first check
* $1,000 at 90 days
* $1,500 at 6 months

Hours:
2nd shift Monday through Friday 2:30PM – 11:00PM
3rd shift 9:30PM – 6:00AM (shift can run Monday through Friday night OR Sunday through Thursday night)

Responsibilities:
• Reviews blueprints or written specifications for a particular job and calculate the areas to be cut or bore into the work piece.
• Determines the speed to which the metal should be fed into the machine and how much metal should be removed from the work piece.
• Selects the tooling and materials necessary to complete the job and determines the sequence of the cutting and finishing operations.
• Turn the planned machining operations into a set of instructions which are translated into a computer program containing a set of commands for the machine to follow.
• Verifies new programs to ensure that the machinery will function properly and that the output will meet customer specifications. If errors are found, modifies programming and re-tests until the problem is solved.
• Operates the machine as per the work instructions set forth for a machine operator.
• Performs all duties in a safe manner, complying with the safety rules, policies and regulations. Employee to have perfect safety record and assist others in preventing injuries.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area. Area should be maintained throughout the shift so no cleanup is required at the end of the shift.
• Completes job / work orders in a timely and efficient manner as per quoted labor standards. Follow best practices at all times and complete jobs in the most efficient and productive manner possible
• Performs various types of machine shop operations to support the production of hydraulic cylinders.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and communicate to management.
• Assist in implementing improvements and best practices.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
• Ability to work individually with minimal supervision and as a contributing member of a team.
• Accuracy, attention to detail and quality orientation.
• Ability to read standard blueprint.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of basic shop math skills (read a tape measure, convert fractions to decimals, use of calculator).
• Knowledge of safety related requirements included proper use of safety equipment and safety precautions.
• Ability to understand and follow existing safety procedures and ensure proper application to work processes.
• Ability to work individually with minimal supervision and as a contributing member of a team.

• Knowledge of basic shop math skills (read a tape measure, convert fractions to decimals, use of calculator).

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
o Body Positions: Ability to remain in a standing stationary position for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day). Ability to consistently move around a manufacturing facility (up to 8 hours per day).
o Body Movements: Full range of body movements including frequent (up to 8 hours per day) use of hands and fingers, to handle or feel objects, including component parts computer equipment and peripherals, and bending, reaching, lifting, and crouching.
