Accounting Manager in Cheektowaga, NY

Salary Range: $52,000 - $78,000 / year

Local Credit Union is seeking to fill a full time Accounting Manager position.

Reports To: CEO

Job Overview:
Responsible for all aspects of the daily accounting operations and ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately tracked and reported. Ensures GAAP and NCUA regulatory compliance, prepares monthly financial statements, and reconciles general ledger accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operations & Reporting: Oversee all daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets/prepaids, payroll, Asset Liability Management Reports, CECL Calculation Reports, and investments. Prepare timely monthly financial statement, Call Reports (Form 5300), and other regulatory reports.
General Ledger & Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. Analyze income/expense variances.
Compliance & Internal Control: Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), NCUA regulations. Prepare documentation and serve as a liaison for internal supervisory committee and regulatory agencies (NCUA.)
Cash Managements: Monitor and manage daily cash flow and investments under direction of management and Board of Directors.

Qualifications
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent credit union/banking experience.
Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP, proficiency in accounting software, and Microsoft Office in a windows environment.
Competencies: Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
