Summary:
The Maintenance Technician, hands-on role responsible for supporting maintenance operations across production equipment and facility systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform daily preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on production equipment and facility systems.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing equipment across production, utilities, buildings, and grounds.
• Maintain machinery, including bearings, assemblies, power transmission systems, rigging, and lubrication.
• Complete bench work using standard hand tools and equipment.
• Learn and assist with basic pipefitting for water, steam, and air systems using various materials (steel, plastic, copper).
• Support senior mechanics during equipment overhauls, repairs, and installations.
• Identify potential equipment issues and communicate findings to appropriate team members.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Accurately document maintenance activities and updates as required.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and demonstrate strong communication skills.
Qualifications:
• Strong interest or foundational knowledge in mechanical and electrical systems required.
• HVAC knowledge or experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment preferred.
• Exposure to ammonia refrigeration or stationary engineering systems is a plus.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Ability to learn quickly and take direction in a team-oriented environment.
Education & Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Trade school training in electrical, mechanical, or related field preferred.
• Prior maintenance or mechanical experience is required.
• Experience in dairy or food manufacturing is a plus.
• Basic math skills required (including ability to calculate averages).
