Technical Sales / Field Support Specialist in Akron, NY

Salary Range: $18.00-$22.00 per Hour based on experience

Erie Metal Specialties, Inc. (EMS) located in Akron, NY is a premier supplier of expansion joint systems to the construction industry.
We are a leading supplier of expansion joint systems for commercial construction projects across the U.S. and are immediately hiring for an entry level Technical Sales and Field Support Specialist to join our growing team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working directly with customers, and being involved in projects from early design through installation. You’ll work with contractors, representatives, and engineering firms across the U.S. and Canada—both from the office and in the field.

Potential Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
• Provide technical expansion joint product support to contractors, reps and design teams
• Support projects in the field, including jobsite visits and troubleshooting installations (travel required)
• Partner with nationwide sales representatives (located across the U.S.) to support and grow sales opportunities
• Review project plans and specifications to identify project opportunities and ensure proper product application
• Assist with material takeoffs, quoting and submittals/shop drawings
• Work with architects and engineers to get products approved and specified into projects
• Support active jobs by troubleshooting issues and guiding proper product use in the field
• Assist with internal coordination and general support tasks as needed

Preferred Experience
• Background in construction, manufacturing, or building products
• Experience with reading and interpreting construction drawings (plans/specs), estimating, or takeoffs (OST or similar tools)
• Basic CAD knowledge is a plus
• Any exposure to technical sales or customer support
• Basic computer skills (knowledge of the Microsoft Suite) and the ability to travel are required.

Pay commensurate upon experience. Range is $18.00-22.00/hour.
