Salary Range: $95,000-$103,000 commensurate with experience

The Orleans/Niagara BOCES is seeking a dynamic and dedicated building principal to lead our elementary program serving students with disabilities in grades K-6. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep commitment to inclusive education, whole child approach, and student-centered leadership.
This individual will be a visible and engaged presence throughout the building and will work closely with staff, families, and district leadership to support a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Leadership:
• Regularly visit classrooms to observe instruction and support staff and students.
• Assist with instructional supervision as assigned by the Director.
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate closely with the CSE and Associate Directors of Special Programs.

Staff Supervision & Evaluation:
• Supervise, observe, and evaluate both tenured and non-tenured teachers per district policy and contractual requirements.
• Participate in staff retention and dismissal recommendations.

Student Management:
• Oversee student attendance and discipline processes within the Learning Center.
• Crisis intervention experience.
• Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools

Operational Oversight:
• Maintain and manage budget needs specific to learning center instructional staff.
• Ensure effective communication with special education administrators.

Additional Duties:
• Carry out responsibilities and initiatives as directed by the District Superintendent.

Required Qualifications:
• Valid NYS School Building Leader (SBL) or equivalent certification.
• Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in an elementary setting.
• Proven track record in instructional leadership and staff supervision.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience participating in or chairing IEP meetings.
• Familiarity with CSE procedures and special education program development.
• Background in behavior management and restorative practices.

Salary Range: $95,000-$103,000 commensurate with experience
