Salary Range: $47,533-$54,749 / year

Erie 1 BOCES is seeking an experienced Plumber to teach high school plumbing students.

Annual Salary: $47,533-$54,749

Hours: 7:45 AM - 2:45 PM

Job Responsibilities:
- Teaches career and technical skills and knowledge and employability skills to prepare students for the world of work or post-secondary education.
- Instructs pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, in accordance with New York State Learning Standards, general elements of the course of study, as specified in state law, administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Participates in planning and developing goals, objectives, curricula, and reports.
- Develops lesson plans and organizes class time so that preparation, instruction, shop work, and cleanup activities can be accomplished with the allotted time.
- Demonstrates career and technical materials, equipment, tools, and processes using standard or teacher-prepared models, mock-ups, sketches, and other instructional aids.
- Guides pupils in selection and performance of appropriate activities.
- Provides individual and group instruction appropriate to the needs of the pupil(s) and the requirements of the activities being performed.
- Instructs pupils in the appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Assists in the control, storage, maintenance, and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse.
- Establishes and maintains standards of classroom pupil conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment.
- Collaborates with academic teachers to integrate academic coursework into career and technical curriculum.

Job Qualifications
- Must hold valid NYS CTE Teacher certification in Plumbing or similar or must be able to obtain prior to start date
- Industry experience and previous teaching experience preferred
- Successful candidate will work and support a current CTE teacher on a project and must be able to work as part of a team
- Successful candidate will be able to provide input on equipment, layout, and needs for plumbing lab.
