Function and Scope: The Brockport Migrant Education Program is a Title I federally funded program that provides educational support to the children of migratory agricultural workers in Monroe, Orleans and Niagara Counties. Migrant Educators provide advocacy leading to self-advocacy and tutoring support to eligible students age 3- 21.

SALARY RANGE: $15 - $16/hour

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES INCLUDING LEVEL OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED:
Assess the needs of Out of School Youth through home contact virtually (or in-person following safety guidelines).
Provide individualized instruction using virtual platforms (or in-person following safety guidelines) in ENL, TASC skills or Life Skills to students who are not attending school.
Organize and implement enrichment activities for language development following safety guidelines.
Support students to develop skills for self-advocacy.
Attend Professional Development meetings and trainings to coordinate services and increase skills.
Maintain all required records such as services provided, student assessment data, student learning plans, etc.,
Make appropriate referrals to community agencies and service providers as needed.
Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Director

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work successfully with a culturally diverse population
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Post secondary education
Driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:
B. S. Degree
Teaching Experience
Experience working with farm workers
