Medical AssistantJericho Road Community Health Center is actively seeking a Medical Assistant. This position is full-time,
within the Nursing department, working at our Barton location.

Responsibilities:
• Improve patient outcomes and deliver quality care within practice areas as assigned.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare treatment rooms for physicians, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
• Taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, or information such as test results in medical records.
• Preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by
providers.
• Collect samples (such as blood, urine, or sputum) from patients and perform routine laboratory tests.
• Complete all patient charting and ensure all patient records are current/complete with strong attention to
detail and accuracy.
• Schedule tests or procedures for patients, such as lab work or x-rays, based on physician orders.
• Scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.
• Ensure all actions, person conduct, and communications represent the organization professionally.
• Uphold and ensure compliance to all policies/procedures, mission, and organizational values in a highly professional manner always.
• Ensure all clinical care is delivered in a manner that meets or exceeds goals and expectations for clinical outcomes, quality assurance standards, state/local regulations, and patient satisfaction.
• Demonstrate knowledge of current standards of practice and perform current nursing practice expectations within established guidelines.
• Maintains current certification.
Qualifications:
• Completion of a certified medical assistant program with current certification.
• Direct experience in primary care is preferred (but not required).
• Demonstrated success in providing clinical care and nursing support with a solid knowledge base of medical practices and procedures within the primary care environment.
• Demonstrated proper knowledge and use of medical devices and equipment.
• Demonstrated ability and familiarity with tools, technology, and systems found within health care environments (such as Basic Computer Skills, Electronic Medical Records, Experience with Medent EMR a plus).
• Professional and effective verbal, writer, and interpersonal communication skills.
Hourly Rate: $16.50 an hour. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate,
including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
