Medaille College seeks applications for a Grants Writer/Manager. The Grants Writer/Manager is responsible for providing grant management support to faculty, staff and administrators seeking to obtain external funds from governmental sources and private foundations; oversight of grant-specific requirements, such as interim and annual reports; assistance with budget development and budget oversight.
The responsibilities of the Grants Writer/Manger will include coordinating and engaging with individuals/units on proposals and providing grant writing assistance. Additionally, the Grant Writer/Manager will have the ability to develop and/or refine campus-wide grant procedures and policies, optimize the grant administration process, and assist project directors and staff in the development and monitoring of grant budgets in collaboration with the Grants Budget Director in the Finance Department. The successful candidate must be able to investigate training possibilities to help create a grant-friendly campus, catalog important information that is common on many grant applications, as well as provide writing support for select grants to local foundations. The Grants Writer/Manager will \work with grantees on implementation of awarded grants, and track grant applications. This position will collaborate with the Data Analyst and Associate Vice President for Research, Grants and Assessment in data aggregation required for grant narratives. Some travel is required.
This position requires a Master’s degree. The Grants Writer/Manager must also demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, methodical and strategic thinking, project management skills, and exemplary organizational skills. Preferred experience writing successful grants is strongly preferred.
