The Financial Manager leads all day-to-day accounting operations, with responsibility for accounting, accounts payable, payroll, and grants administration. Responsibilities include production of all financial reporting, maintaining accounting records, accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, administration of a comprehensive set budgets, ensure reported results comply with GAAP, adhere to grants management standards, and result in acceptable audits.

Rate: $50,000

DUTIES / TASKS (not necessarily all inclusive)
• Maintain full set of comprehensive ledgers for multiple grants with various year end dates
• Organize and maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Prepare monthly Board Report
• Administer US-based payroll using various tools including QuickBooks®
• Accounts Payable and Billing
• Cash Management
• Responsible for budgeting and projections
• Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and state filings

• Work independently and meet deadlines; Operate in a multi-tasking environment; Able to rationally prioritize
• Maintain confidential and sensitive information; Keep accurate records; Ability to set goals and meet deadlines
• Be a positive example for other staff; Effectively communicate in both oral and written form
• Abide by the policies established by the Agency
• MINIMUM Bachelor’s Accounting w/ 3 years Full Ledger bookkeeping including payroll processing
• Proven experience as a Financial Manager; Proficient user of finance software; QuickBooks® 3+ years exp preferred, ++
• Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations; Experience with non-profit accounting +
• Grant and foundation experience preferred, ++
• Interpersonal skills to work cooperatively and effectively with individuals, groups, staff, and a diverse population
• Excellent time-management skills able to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality
• Proactive, hands-on manager owning this responsibility; Strategic thinker
• Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel & Word; Ability to use Outlook with ease
• Able to work remotely and in-person; No barriers to commuting; Able to transmit and receive electronic documents
• Must start with and maintain a clear criminal background and driving record; Pass all background & pre-hire requirements
• Must have own, reliable vehicle carrying and maintaining a minimum of 100/300 auto liability coverage
• Must have a valid NYS Driver License
• Ability to lift at least 30lbs; Can perform in a smoke-free environment
• Familiarity with local Native American community
