Responsible for linking the Head Start/Early Head Start center, the family, and related community resources; does related work as required. Receive on-the-job-training; subject to the direction of Early Head Start Manager. The person in this position is responsible for implementation of programs and policies related to child development, health, family and community partnerships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Recruits children and families.
- Screens new children's applications.
- Interviews to complete enrollment process.
- Assigns children to classrooms.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Associates Degree in Social Work, Social Services, Sociology, Human Services, Psychology, Early Childhood Development or closely related field required or equivalent in training and experience. Bachelors preferred. Must have intermediate computer skills and be knowledgeable of Microsoft office.
- Training and skill required in nursing /health related areas or education in child development preferred.
- Knowledge of child and family health care.
- Previous experience with community work and low income families.
