The Development Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the creation, building, production, rework, and repair of tooling and fixturing as well as development, prototype, R&D and production hardware in the form of piece parts, components or assemblies. This requires planning, fixturing, and layout of the job and also includes creating and editing CNC programs as necessary. This can involve establishing extremely close tolerances, critical surfaces, and finishes. Additionally, some skilled bench work may be required such as filing, scraping, lapping, fitting, timing, indexing, assembling, and adjusting to ensure satisfactory operation.

This individual is responsible for the inspection and quality of all work performed and the accuracy of programming efforts. This includes detecting unusual conditions, defective materials, as well as recognizing errors in blueprints and operation sheets.

Responsibilities:
Interpret complex drawings, sketches, EPs, and operation sheets.
With a high degree of accuracy perform difficult set-ups.
Program, set up, and run CNC equipment as well as manual/conventional equipment with minimal supervision or guidance. This will include machining complex development parts by creating and using CAD-generated solid models and 3D CNC tool path programming techniques.
Accurate use of technical math including geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to effectively run several different types of machines.
Ability to effectively navigate web-based computer applications, Moog Business Systems, and database, word processing, and spreadsheet programs.

Basic Qualifications:
Associate Degree + 5 years Machinist experience, including 2 years diversified Machinist experience
OR
Certified Journeyman’s Papers + 5 years Machinist experience, including 2 years diversified Machinist experience
OR
Additional Trades Training + 5 years Machinist experience, including 2 years diversified Machinist experience.
