Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000

Great Lakes Dental Technologies a leading orthodontic lab and distribution company committed to delivering high-quality products and services to our customers. We are seeking a talented and driven Controller to join our finance team and oversee all aspects of financial management, accounting, and reporting. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our operations and strategic decision-making through accurate financial analysis and strong leadership.

Job Title: Controller
Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000
Schedule: M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, on-site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
-Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
-Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
-Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
-Provide in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for operational improvement.
-Lead the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to prepare accurate financial forecasts and projections.
-Monitor budget performance and prepare variance analyses
-Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.) and company policies.
-Manage internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risk.
-Coordinate and manage annual audits and work with external auditors to ensure financial compliance.
-Partner with operations, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate accounting and inventory valuation.

Education and/or Experience Requirement:
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, with at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
-Proficiency with accounting software (ERP systems preferably Microsoft 365 Business Central, databases and other productivity software) and advanced Excel skills.

-Detail oriented with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
-Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments including strong verbal and written communication skills.
-In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
-Thorough understanding of NYS sales and use tax rules and guidelines.
-Experience with financial statement preparation including a statement of cash flows.

Technical Knowledge: Business Central, ERP systems.

Reasoning Ability:
-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
-Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
-Ability to review data, draw conclusions and make suggestions based on data.
