Bindery Folder/Lettershop Laborer Operator

The Bindery Folder Operator handles the set up and operation of fold jobs to exact customer specifications, including
perfing and scoring on various types of equipment. They are responsible for reviewing and understanding the specific
instruction pertaining to orders, paying close attention to final mail sequence order. The Bindery Folder Operator
handles all functions that are associated with the folding equipment. They are responsible for quality of product and
optimum efficiency in folding and sorting mail. They will have contact with other departments and will be required to
communicate with Maintenance to help determine mechanical issues.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Read and understand the job ticket and specifications of an assigned job and communicate these requirements and any potential problems to associates.
• Conduct a check of fold sample.
• Setup, adjust and operate folders to meet customer specifications and USPS requirements.
• Set rollers.
• Setup transfer shaft to slit, trim, score, perf and edge trim.
• Obtain approval from supervisor prior to running project.
• Operate power industrial equipment such as sit down forklifts and walk behind pallet jacks.
• Run customer samples.
• Clean and maintain work area.
• Cross train and work in other positions/departments when needed
• Understand and enforce safety procedures regarding the operation of the equipment and the organizational policies.
• Any other duties assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS
• A High School Degree, GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree
• Basic Computer Skills
• Basic Math Skills
• Basic Mechanical skills
• Basic Troubleshooting Skills

with arms and hands. Hands and fingers frequently perform repetitive motion. Occasionally the employee will lift
and/or move up to 40 pounds. This job requires close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to
adjust focus. Employee is required to regularly talk and hear.

SHIFT – 10:00pm-6:30am, Monday – Friday

SALARY RANGE - $18.00 - $20.00 / hour
