Job Description:

D’Youville seeks a highly motivated individual who can contribute and is mechanically inclined, detailed, customer oriented, and takes pride in their work. We have opportunities for you with positions listed below.

Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities or Foreman the individual will
perform general maintenance and custodial duties and a variety of routine manual
tasks, requiring medium to heavy physical effort.


General Mechanic:

Responsibilities and Duties:
Boiler-related work as described by Chief Engineer’s instructions (e.g. cleaning tubes, blowing down boilers, cleaning oil screens, burner adjustments, etc.)
Air condition related work as described by Chief Engineer’s instructions (e.g. lubricating parts, cleaning filters, minor repairs to pumps, etc.)

Mechanical – able to make minor repairs on machines, equipment, motor vehicles, physical plant equipment and college related equipment.

Electrical – able to install electrical fixtures and equipment as well as maintain electrical equipment on campus.

Maintenance - participates in moving and setting up of furniture for college activities, classroom office, resident hall use, as directed by foreman or Facilities Director. Removes trash, assists in snow removal/lawn maintenance, painting, minor carpentry repairs and general maintenance work are included. Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
-High school education/general education diploma
-Mechanical aptitudes as tested in probation period.
-One year work experience.
-Driver’s license
